Mark Bowden Developments, in conjunction with THG’s landscape architecture, urban design and planning units, had created a development worthy of recognition, Windarra.

Windarra is situated 14 kilometres north of Brisbane’s CBD, set amongst 200 acres of which 100 acres is parkland reserve. It is the last development site of its kind in the region, and clever environmental and planning approaches resulted in a 33.5% net gain in ‘of concern’ vegetation and a 28% net gain in other remnant vegetation.

THG’s task was to work with the developer to compile, write and design an award submission for the Urban Development Institute of Australia Awards that was successful in two categories – Environmental Sustainability and Small Residential Subdivisions.

THG also worked closely with environmental consultants Orogen to ensure the information contained within the submission really demonstrated the innovative environmental strategies used on the site.

THG were able to use our understanding of the project, through access to those who actually worked on the development, to write a compelling award submission that was a unique combination of technical and marketing information.
