Stone Ridge Residential Development

Stone Ridge is a 606-lot residential development located in the suburb of Narangba in heart of the north of the Moreton Bay Region. This Local Government Area (LGA) continues to be one of the fastest growing LGAs in Queensland. The proximity to Brisbane and other regional centres, coupled with the region’s diversity, relaxed lifestyle, superb climate and affordable cost of living is attracting significant numbers of new residents. In 2006, 134,820 people lived in the LGA; by 2016, it is estimated the population will grow over 30% to more than 174,000 residents (Department of Infrastructure and Planning, 2007).

THG, along with the development team, have ensured that while the highest quality ecological features of the site have been retained in the Urban Ecological Corridor (UEC), opportunities for residential housing for various levels of the market has been provided.  The total number of small lots approved for the subject site resulted from extensive consultation with Council staff regarding the layout of the development.  The introduction of outdoor classrooms into the UEC is a feature that was achieved through consultation with Council.  The classrooms have received support from the adjoining Jinibara State School who contributed to the artwork found within the classrooms.  THG has worked on this project from its inception providing planning, urban design, marketing and surveying services to the original owner and continues to provide planning and urban design services to Stockland who purchased the site in 2010.

The construction of the first stage is now complete with the estate sales office opening in March 2011.  Construction has now started on the display village which is due to open later this year.  Residential sections in Stages 1A and 1B are now available.
