Carers Quality of Life Audit

THG is a proud member of Partners for Livable Communities (PLC), a not for profit organisation that promotes opportunities to increase liveability in Australian communities. Our company Director Tim Connolly is the Chairman of PLC and our Senior Economist Richard Katter has recently been elected as the CEO of the organisation.

THG’s MaD team also works closely with PLC to raise awareness of mutually important issues and topics. PLC was approached by Carers Queensland to project manage a review of the quality of life Queensland carers face with limited resources and support available. With more than 10,000 estimated carers in the state, PLC was asked to design and promote an online audit to gain quantitative and qualitative data that will instigate positive changes by the Australian government for carers.

PLC’s CEO (THG’s Economist) designed the audit and reviewed the data to create fact sheets for distribution.Our MaD team worked in conjunction with Carers Queensland to create a media strategy to promote thesurvey and encourage carers to complete it, as well as raising awareness of the audit findings to prompt policychanges.

THG created a number of targeted media releases in the lead up to the audit opening and closing dates, as wellas a detailed release with the audit findings. We managed all media enquiries and met specific requests suchas analysing and producing results for certain publication populations, like the Ipwich Times. Carers from avariety of regions were also media trained and interviewed to maximise coverage in a variety of Queensland publications and radio interviews.
