World Town Planning Day was this week and the aim is to promote awareness, support, and advocacy of community and regional planning among the general public. The day is also aimed at recognizing and promoting the role of planning in creating liveable communities. As I was watching a news bulletin piece on the new IKEA store that had opened at Tempe in Sydney the thought hit me that planning recognition in the wider community really does need more advocacy, support and awareness. read the full story
