Ainsley McLaren

Ainsley McLaren

Ainsley has a passion for working with local and regional communities to achieve business, industry, economic and community development outcomes; driven by her experience working in local government economic development.

Ainsley’s ability to create a compelling economic argument stems from her work with models designed to determine the contribution of an industry sector, project or development to a local or regional economy, as well as the flow-benefits to the community.

Working extensively with the Beaudesert Shire Council and Tweed Economic Development Corporation to frame the strategic economic decision making process for these regions, Ainsley has gained considerable expertise in economic research and regional development, and an understanding of how local governments operate. Ainsley’s significant previous involvement with regional economic development practititioner forums and her knowledge of regional planning policies and strategies, ensures she remains up-to-date with issues impacting upon local government in South East Queensland, broader Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Her research background is complemented by her project management and liaison experience. Ainsley has worked with a diverse cross-section of local communities, with projects involving close liaison with, and even establishing, youth groups, senior citizens groups, sporting organisations, arts networks, home-based business networks, chambers of commerce, fine food manufacturers, boat manufacturers, equine businesses and equestrian groups. Ainsley is able to build relationships with all stakeholders of a project to ensure ownership of initiatives and commitment to achieving real results from economic research.
